Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 Review

Some consumers would not even consider purchasing a mobile photo that isn't from either Apple, Samsung or other large brands like HTC, but I have decided to review one of Vodafone's devices, so I present a review of the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6.

This phone has a very nice form factor making it easy to fit into your pocket and carry around. The size of this device along with its amazing features like it's camera make this device definitely one to consider when choosing a new mobile.

Firstly when I opened up the box of this device I was pleasantly surprised. This does sound very silly, but I was very impressed by the fact that the box was made from up to 80% post-consumer recycled paper and the graphics are printed using soy-based inks. This makes this box 100% recyclable and also means that it is fit for everybody even those who are natures best friend!
The screen is 5.5 inches and boasts a full HD display meaning that you are able to play games, browse the internet and watch movies in fantastic quality and makes for a really good viewing experience. Personally, I felt that the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 had a clearer display than the iPhone 6S, although on the iPhone a screen protector had been applied.

The setup of this device was very simple, as all that you needed to do was sign in with your Google Account, meaning that you have everything at your fingertips and ready to use, this along with the fantastic apps pre-installed by Vodafone really added to the user-experience. This means that if you didn't understand anything it would all be there to help you out, also if you had any issues you could always contact the customer support team, who I have found very helpful and informative.

This device has 2GB of RAM, along with a 1.5Ghz processor and 1.0Ghz Octa-core, meaning that anything that you do on this device including running multiple apps does not seem to make a massive dent to the performance of the device. Additionally, a massive plus point is that accessing the device is also very simple and quick as you can just draw a pattern to unlock the device. I found this very helpful and allows you to be creative.

Additionally this device has 4G, meaning that you can browse the internet, and use social media at rocket fast speeds up to 150 Mbps, meaning that you can update your Twitter feed instantly! Also if this was a second phone, either a work phone or a device for another purpose, you could also take advantage of the personal hotspots that you can host, allowing other devices to get the same rocket fast 4G speeds.

The battery life on this device is also very good as it has a 3000 mAh battery and also takes advantage of it's Qualcomm Quick Charge Technology. This gave me plenty of time to play games, search the web and browse social media! Additionally, to charge the device you can simply use a micro USB cable, which means that this phone would be compatible with loads of accessories!

The camera on this device is also very good as you have a 13 megapixel back camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Along with these fantastic quality sensors, you have loads of functions on the camera app including Panorama, HDR, Multi-exposure, Interval capture and Smile detection. All of these functions along with the manual settings that you can change, means that you can get some very good photos. The resolution of the images are 4160x3120, meaning that if you get a cracking shot, and decide to get the image blown up it will still look fantastic! I tested out the camera, and you can view some of the photos below.

Moreover, the video function records 1080p at 30fps, which means that you can take advantage of the full HD screen to watch your stunning videos, and look back on various memories. Also under the video tab in settings you can select the time lapse function which is always handy if you have some time on your hands. I recorded a few clips using the camera on the device, and you can view them below.

On the top of device you have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can listen to music and watch your favourite YouTube stars! On the right hand side of the device you have your lock button, your volume rocker and the SIM card tray. On the bottom, you have the microphone and the micro USB port for data transfer and charging the device, and finally on the left hand side of the device you have a microSD card port, meaning that you can expand your storage which is a very strong selling point of this device.
When using the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6, I only came across two issues, these included when using the device for prolonged amounts of time it would heat up to quite hot temperatures which was slightly worrying, but this is probably just because the device is new and the battery has not been configured yet. Another issues that I noticed was that the speaker was on the back of the device where you hand is so the audio is sometimes muffled or even blocked when listening to music or watching a video.

So I would defiantly recommend the Vodafone SmartUltra 6 to anybody young or old, as Vodafone have fantastic customer support, and the device have some excellent features to take advantage of.

Thanks to Vodafone for sending out this device to conduct a honest review.
