Around this time every year we hear about the latest and greatest news and releases from major companies in the electronic industry. Currently the most significant news that we are aware of is the announcement of Microsoft's new console, the Xbox One X.

Before E3, Microsoft referred to this console as 'Project Scorpio' which provided great anticipation and excitement to the gaming community, and since the reveal the reactions have been very positive. 

The name of the new console had various speculations after Microsoft trademarked a mysterious 'S' logo not long before the start of E3. Many gamers believed that this would confirm the 'Scorpio' branding of the console, but since the name has been revealed people are still unsure of the relationship of the 'S' logo and this console.

Microsoft have also announced that all Xbox One accessories will work with the new console, and it will also feature all Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles currently playable on current-gen console, as well as all Xbox One games.

This console has been compared against the power of Sony's Playstation 4 Pro, and to many gamer's excitement this new Xbox One X has proven to be more powerful. It will be capable of delivering 6 teraflops of graphical power, where as the PS4 Pro only delivers 4.2 teraflops.

The Xbox One X also offers a custom GPU that runs at 1172MHz, which is a dramatic increase over the Xbox One's 853MHz. In comparison with Sony's 911MHz the Xbox One X offers a much greater graphical speeds. 

Moreover, Microsoft are also shipping the new console with a 1TB of storage and an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K entertainment.

In connection with the release of the new console, numerous new games were also announced including Forza Motorsport 7 which will run at native 4K at 60fps. There are 22 console launch exclusives including Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves.

Games such as Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft and Halo Wars 2, will all have a free update to make them compatible with 4K. 

The Xbox One X is set to be released November 7th worldwide, and is set to be priced at $499 and £449 in the UK.
